Driver arrested and multiple knives found following tactical stop in Birmingham

A driver has been arrested and multiple knives discovered after officers use 'tactics' to avoid a pursuit in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police have arrested one man and seized multiple combat knives and machetes following an incident in Erdington. 

The arrest comes after officers as part of the West Midlands Police Roads Crime Team spotted a cloned Nissan in Erdington, Birmingham.

Using 'tactics', officers avoided a pursuit with the vehicle, quickly arresting the driver, and also finding multiple combat knives and machetes on board the car that was 'very recently stolen'.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Officers saw this cloned Nissan in Erdington. It was stopped using tactics to avoid a pursuit.

"The driver was arrested when we found multiple combat knives and machetes on board plus the car was very recently stolen."

Emergency services have been approached for more information.
