Watch: Demolition work at historic Walsall foundry which closed after more than a century

The bulldozers have been busy knocking down Walsall's historic Chamberlin & Hill castings factory.

Our drone photographs and video shows work underway at the heritage iron casting site which stood in Chuckery Road, Chuckery,           for over a century.

A large portion of the premises has been flattened and mounds of building rubble can be seen from the street.

It ceased trading in May last year with the loss of 78 jobs in Walsall and 51 jobs at another site in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.

The factory provided much-needed jobs,  but was situated cheek by jowl with homes which resulted in complaints of dust pollution from some residents.

A long-running campaign resulted in the owners paying out more than £1 million following a five-year battle in an out-of-court settled with five residents who had decided to take legal action.
