A murder investigation has been launched after a man was shot dead in Wolverhampton this afternoon.

Police say they were called to Eastfield Grove, East Park just after 3.20pm and a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "The investigation is at a very early stage, and we’d urge people to avoid the area as road closures are in place.
"Officers will remain in the area throughout today.
"If you saw anything, or have mobile phone, doorbell or dashcam footage, get in touch with us as soon as possible via 101 or Live Chat, quoting 3288."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman says: “On arrival, crews found a man receiving bystander CPR.
“Medics immediately administered advanced trauma care but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.”
