Business as usual for Lye tyre firm as investigations continue into massive blaze
It is business as usual for one of the units affected by the fire which took hold in Hayes Lane, Lye on Saturday night and raged until Sunday.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing by West Midlands Fire Service, but Lye Tyres, which was badly damaged in the blaze, including a large hold in the roof was open for business on Monday.
In contrast there was nobody at home at Club 2000 Tackle Warehouse which was destroyed in the blaze which was fought by 13 crews.
Ajmal Waheed, the co-owner of Lye Tyres said the initial shock of the fire had worn off and they were looking to get to 'As normal as possible.'
He said: "It took hold of the adjacent property first but then spread and we had to leave the premises very quickly on Saturday night.
"We were closed yesterday although we would have been open, but today apart from a bit more clearing up we have been open to customers who need tyres or pressures taken.
"The tracking machine still needs re-balancing but we would just like to let people know we are open as usual.
He said an adjacent property had a "massive fire" and they left the premises quickly.
Fire officers remained on site until around 7pm on Sunday and the road between Hayes Lane and Stour Vale Road was re-opened on Monday morning.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire said their investigation into the cause of the fire was continuing.
