The Wolverhampton alley burnt to the ground on Sunday.

West Midlands Police spokesman Pete Edney this afternoon confirmed the fire was being treated as arson and said any witnesses should contact the force.

Fire crews were called at around 5.20pm on Sunday to the fire on Bushbury Lane.

At its height, around 100 firefighters from across the Black Country and Birmingham battled the blaze with up to 14 fire engines. Plumes of smoke billowed into the sky and flames towered above the building.

The bowling alley closed suddenly in October, and the owners were due to put it on the market to be leased out again.
