Four men this afternoon denied murdering a Wolverhampton father-to-be just hours before his wife gave birth.

Muhammed Farooq was attacked near to Flames takeaway in Chapel Ash where he worked.

The 40-year-old, of Merridale Street West, was found dead in Clifton Street on September 28 last year.

Today Nasar Abbas and Shakil Mohammed, both aged 24, and Idris Mohammed, 29, all of St Mark's Road, Chapel Ash, were further remanded in custody at Wolverhampton Crown Court along with Ali Wazir, 31, of Rayleigh Road, Bradmore.

Today it emerged that all apart from Wazir are also charged with, and deny, the robbery of another man on the same day.

The April 4 trial on both matters is due to last up to four weeks.

Police broke the news of Mr Farooq's death to his wife after she gave birth to a daughter at New Cross Hospital.
