A Portuguese lorry driver has been charged with six counts of death by dangerous driving after a family was killed in a major crash on the M6.

A Portuguese lorry driver has been charged with six counts of death by dangerous driving after a family was killed in a major crash on the M6.

Paulo Jorge Nogueira da Silva, 46, is charged over the deaths of David and Michelle Statham and their four children in the crash on Monday night.

The couple's youngest child, who was just 10 weeks old, was among those killed. Da Silva is due in court today.
