17 pictures show spectacular Halloween lights display at Staffordshire home raising money for dogs charity

The annual display at 9 St Modwena Way officially switched on at 6.30pm on October 24

A Penkridge home has once again been transformed into a spectacular Halloween attraction, with thousands of lights and spooky surprises helping to raise money for a much-loved animal charity.

The annual display at 9 St Modwena Way officially switched on at 6.30pm on Saturday (October 24) with visitors invited to enjoy an impressive array of Halloween decorations, colourful lights and interactive features.

The popular attraction has become a regular fixture for Halloween and Christmas, with its organisers spending much of the year preparing to make each display bigger and better than the last.

This year's show, which is on until Halloween, promises even more lights and interactive buttons for visitors to press – although exactly what happens when they do remains something of a mystery.

As always, the display is raising money for Sunnyside, part of Birmingham Dogs Home, with visitors encouraged to donate whatever they can. See the JustGiving fundraiser here.

Last year's Halloween and Christmas fundraising efforts brought in an impressive £3,600 through JustGiving, card payments and cash donations, and the organisers are hoping to beat that total this year.

They said a huge amount of effort had gone into preparing the latest display, adding that every penny donated would go towards supporting the charity and the dogs in its care.

Visitors are also encouraged to follow the Modwena Way Lights Facebook page and share the display with friends and family.
