Behind-the-scenes photos have shown the work being put in by the Queen of British Soul and the cast of Sylvia as they prepare for a UK tour.

Beverley Knight and cast members including Naomi Katiyo, Kelly Agbowu and Kirstie Skivington can be seen practising the songs and dance routines for the Olivier Award-winning musical.

Alongside the cast was the full creative team, with choreographers, musicians, costume and set designers and other members of the crew working at the scene as well.

The musical is billed as: “The untold story of the rebellious middle child of Emmeline Pankhurst taking centre stage in this irresistible hip hop, funk and soul musical that moves your feet and fires your spirit.”

It will be taking centre stage at the Birmingham Hippodrome between October 6 and October 10, with tickets starting at £25, as part of a national tour which visits major theatre in Scotland and England before a three-night showing at the Royal Albert Hall in London in November.
