I love this West Midlands hidden treasure that's about to feature on a BBC series

The series will feature stunning National Trust sites

Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses in Staffordshire will be showcased in a BBC Arts TV programme, uncovering their rich history and conservation efforts.

The series, called ‘Hidden Treasures of the National Trust’, will follow the stories behind some of the country’s most stunning National Trust sites.

For example, it will be an opportunity to find out more behind the conservation works taking place at Staffordshire’s Kinver Edge and its Rock Houses.

These remarkable and recently occupied relics carved out of sandstone offer a glimpse into a previous time. The last cave dwellers lived in the rocks up until the 1960s.

Claire Hale, visitor experience manager at Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses, said: “We’re thrilled that Kinver Edge is featuring in this series. The Rock Houses are unlike anywhere else in the country and the programme beautifully captures both their unique history and the work taking place to care for them and the surrounding landscape.

“We hope viewers will enjoy discovering more about the people who lived here and be inspired to visit and explore Kinver Edge for themselves.”

The show will look at how National Trust staff will install a salvaged, historic kitchen range inside one of the Rock Houses.

You can watch Hidden Treasures of the National Trust this Friday (June 12) at 9pm on BBC 2, or watch now on BBC iPlayer: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002wb7z/hidden-treasures-of-the-national-trust-series-4-5-bobbins-and-hobbit-holes
