Race-inspired Vantage AMR model introduces Aston Martin’s go-faster division with style

Aston Martin has tasked its new motorsport division with building 300 special edition models
Aston Martin has revealed the Vantage AMR, a race-inspired version of the British manufacturer’s iconic sports car.
There are two engine options in the form of a 430bhp V8 and a 595bhp V12. Both engines come with the choice of a sequential manual paddle-shift transmission or a six- or seven-speed manual gearbox.

There are four paint schemes to choose from: white and orange; black and blue; blue and red; and silver and grey. Each exterior paintjob is matched to its own interior theme, with plenty of leather and Alcantara.

Andy Palmer, Aston Martin president and CEO, said: “It’s a real thrill to see our first AMR model go into production.
“The Vantage has been an incredible success for Aston Martin, both in V8 and V12 forms. As our most agile and athletic road car, and our long-time representative in the world of GT racing, it is the perfect model with which to introduce the exciting AMR range.”

It is the first model to be produced by the company’s new motorsport-inspired division called Aston Martin Racing, which will create go-faster versions of Aston Martin models as well as more extreme versions such as the track-only AMR Pro revealed earlier this year.
The Aston Martin Vantage AMR is available in both coupe and convertible forms, with 100 V12 and 200 V8 models being made available. They will cost from £97,995 and deliveries will start late this year.
