Safety scheme is a police-led initiative designed to reduce the number of motorcycle accidents and improve rider safety
BikeSafe has taken delivery of 10 Ducati Multistrada 1200 motorcycles to help it develop riders’ skills, knowledge and hazard awareness through hands-on workshops.
The bikes were handed over at RAF Brize Norton, and the initiative will see 2,500 RAF personnel as well as civilians put through the workshop by police.

The purchase was funded by Highways England, which said that it had seen the benefit of the BikeSafe project, and sees improving biker skills as a way of reducing casualties from road accidents.
Ducatis have been used by BikeSafe in the past, including a 1299 Panigale and a Scrambler.
Assistant Chief Constable Nick Adderley, the National Police Chiefs Council lead for BikeSafe, said “We are delighted by the recognition and direct support that BikeSafe has received from Highways England, a national body that is working in partnership with BikeSafe to reduce motorcycle casualties.
“This has enabled BikeSafe to purchase this fantastic fleet of Ducati motorcycles. These exciting and dynamically engaging bikes will be used for BikeSafe engagement and education of motorcyclists across the country, as well as keeping our service personnel safe through our partnership with the RAF.”
