Kupid is performing at the 14th annual A3C (All 3 Coasts) Festival & Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend alongside rising stars such as Paigey Cakey, K-Trap, Jaykae and Truemendous as part of the Tapes UK project.

Kupid told the Express & Star: "The five-day festival is set to be one to remember, with performances from Wu Tang Clan, Dipset, Talib Kweli and so many more. This is my big opportunity to network and rub shoulders with influential faces in the industry and show off true Wolverhampton talent.

"I am in the midst of releasing some of my best material yet and am set to shine among my musical peers in what will be a game-changing trip."

Only a few weeks ago, Kupid became Wolverhampton’s first official ambassador for Tapes, an international community for grime and hip-hop artists. His Tapes journey began with an Arts Council England-supported project at Birmingham-based Zion Recording Studios, where he worked with Second City artist Elektric, engineer Tony Biggz and Atlanta producer AMG to record an overseas collaboration track. This international project is being run by Tapes alongside events supported by PRS Foundation at A3C Festival & Conference.

During the Atlanta stop of this ambitious project, Kupid will be one of four UK artists working with three UK producers and some of their best upcoming US counterparts working at world-renowned Patchwerk Recording Studios to put the finishing touches on the album they have spent months collaborating on.

Patchwerk’s client list includes huge names such as Aaliyah, Notorious B.I.G, PINK, 50 Cent, Beyonce and one of Kupid’s biggest influences – Outkast.

He added: "Birmingham’s Papez Musix, Elektric, Tynee, Triple B, Danny Boom and Tarju Le Sano also feature on the album, on which I deliver punchlines you will love.

“I’m very excited and blessed to be on this project, I cannot wait to go out to the birthplace of Outkast and record in the same studio as so many legendary artists.”

He is also looking forward to the possibility of meeting hip hop group Goodie Mob, who will be holding a conference at the festival. “I’ll be in the midst of greatness!" he added. "This is the first time I’m going to Atlanta, but it won’t be the last!”

Kupid is able to attend the festival thanks to backing from Arts Council England, Tapes UK and The Switch Project Wolverhampton, flying out tomorrow.
