Sam Lambeth, from Wolverhampton, has been in the music industry for more than 10 years.

During his career he has fronted bands such as Quinn, The MonoBloggers and Winona whilst gigging around the local music scene.

Last month, Sam took the plunge and embarked on a solo artist career, releasing his debut single, When Love Ain’t Enough.

The track has already amassed 50,000 streams on Spotify, and the Black Country-based artist now has more than 20,000 monthly listeners from across the globe from as far as Italy and the USA.

On November 20, Sam announced a headline solo gig at Birmingham’s Deadwax Digbeth, with support from Ryan Evans, from Perton, which sold out within six days. Sam has used his new found free time in lockdown to hone his craft.

He said: “As a performer it’s been good. I’ve tried to take advantage of it.

“I did livestream gigs during lockdown one and two, both of which were well received.

“I took a second job and did some freelance work, plus sold loads of stuff on eBay and got the money together to record with the legendary Ryan Pinson.

“It’s been different for me as lockdown made me get off my rump and make music again.

“I had nothing planned. Going into lockdown inspired me to start writing original music again.”

Despite the ongoing coronavirus restrictions meaning live performances are currently limited, Sam is hopeful for the new year.

He added: “For the new year, I’m excited.

“I’ve got a sold out gig to look forward to – and rehearse like mad for – and an eight-song EP.

“I’ll stay hungry and humble. Whatever happens, it’s always a bonus.”
