There were just a few hundred left over to be snapped up last night.

Fans were able to grab tickets from 9am yesterday, and as the Express & Star went to print, there were just shy of 500 left to purchase.

There are about 25,000 tickets on sale for the event.

It is the first big concert to be staged at the stadium in 15 years, since Bon Jovi in 2003 when 34,000 people packed out the Wolves ground.

Thousands will turn out for the show on June 8 as the rock legend – now aged 73 – performs as part of his Blood Red Roses tour.

Tickets are selling for up to £125 for a front row seat.

It’s being staged three weeks after Wolves’ Premier League season finishes.

Wolves season ticket holders were able to buy tickets a day earlier than the general public.

Meanwhile, anyone who pre-ordered Rod’s new album via HMV could also get their tickets two days before the official sale date.

And in just three days approximately 24,500 tickets have already been sold.

Rod’s concert will be an all-seater event with just three of the four stands open and temporary seating on the pitch.

Fans can expect to hear classics like Maggie May, The First Cut is the Deepest and Hot Legs as well as material from the new album.

The Molineux performance will be the fifth of seven Sir Rod concerts at stadiums across England and Scotland.

Although Sir Rod played at Shrewsbury Town’s ground last year, this marks the first tour of his home country for three years.
