A US firm has signed a global deal to create a range of toys and games based on boy band One Direction.

Mini figures based on members of the group, including Wolverhampton's Liam Payne, will be created for the band's US fans after the agreement was signed by American firm Hasbro.

One Direction's debut album Up All Night has topped charts across the world and the band broke records when they became the first British act to have a debut album go straight to the top of the US billboard charts.

The toys and games will go on sale in the US in the autumn.

Hasbro's chief marking officer John Frascotti said: "In the short time since the group's debut, One Direction has captured the hearts of many young fans across the world.

"The band is poised for continued and increasing global success."
