Hunger Moon are Natalie Jenkins and James Attwood

Hunger Moon – James Attwood and Natalie Jenkins – will reveal Feel It Sometimes via all digital streaming platforms.

They started out in the creative depths of Digbeth, now one of the Second City’s musical heartbeats, having met during their studies. The duo have been busy since, opening up for Adam French, Joseph J Jones and Alessi’s Ark, winning acclaim from Amazing Radio & BBC Introducing and appearing at Lunar, Y Not and 110 Above Festivals in 2018.

The influences come from Kate Bush, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and Portishead, combining a hauntingly rich vocal with their very take on indie pop. Vocalist Natalie’s voice is deep and rich throughout this song, the reverberating beats that push her from underneath allow that voice to do all the talking without overpowering or intruding upon it.

A spokesperson said: “Finding their inspiration in human nature and adulthood, Feel It Sometimes is a song about one-sided emotions; the selfishness you find yourself battling with at the end of any form of relationship; sadness, bitterness and all of the painful confusion that comes with it”

And James and Natalie add: “It’s that thought of knowing you need to be bent, be broken, to come out better on the other side.”

Feel It Sometimes was recorded with Midlands producer Ryan Pinson (God Damn) at RML Studios based at Wolverhampton’s Newhampton Arts Centre.

Hunger Moon will also be playing as part of the first gig put on by Babywoman Records at Birmingham's Centrala, at the Minerva Works on Fazeley Street, on June 1. They'll be on the bill alongside Ralph Pelleymounter, Charlotte Carpenter and Andy Oliveri.
