The former Unsigned column stars have announced they are releasing their sophomore EP When Sirens Smile on October 11.

Recorded with Dan Willett, who is also in the band Creature, at Univibe in Birmingham over the summer it will be the first to feature new drummer Mark Grigg. It will be available to hear on both their Spotify and Soundcloud pages upon its release.

Continuing the nautical theme to their artworks, the latest cover features a mythical siren gazing at herself in a hand-held mirror.

Their debut EP, Embark - which featured an octopus wrapped around a ship's steering wheel on its cover - was released at the turn of the year.

Drummer Grigg again makes Crest Glider a four-piece alongside Kelly Bird and Jon Collins on guitars, vocals and keys and bassist Sean Carroll – Kelly's fiancée.

"Grigg joined the band earlier this year and we headed straight into the studio to record our single Horror," Collins explains. "It was a bit punkier and guitar driven and we’ve continued down that path with this new EP."

The forthcoming EP's cover

To get fans excited for the EP release, they have also put together a video for the lead single Monstrous, which is now available to watch on their YouTube channel.

"Monstrous was one of the first songs we put together after Grigg joined, and we feel it really encompasses the core elements of our sound - the frantic choruses contrasted against the dreamy breakdown," Collins adds.
