The cast and crew of The Boy Who Had It All - along with around 100 extras - descended on the tourist attraction on Monday.

The project is the brainchild of Dudley filmmaker Marcus Distant who is hoping to create a finished film of between 10 to 13 minutes long which will be uploaded to YouTube.

Filming began last year with several scenes shot at Dudley Museum and at Dudley Cemetery on Stourbridge Road.

This week at the Black Country Living Museum the cameras were rolling by the canal near the relocated Bottle and Glass Inn.

And youngster Cameron Hay was portraying the Edwards in his formative years.

Mr Distant, said: "The film starts off a bit like Titanic, in the 'present', and then goes back in time like with Kate Winslet at the time the Titanic sunk.

"We filmed last year at Dudley Museum and at his graveside and by his statue and that will all be in the 'present' time.

"The stuff we are doing here at the Black Country Living Museum will be like a memory. We are filming at the canal and then filming by cobbled streets.

"Hopefully we have got about 100 extras that we are going to film to try and recreate Dudley town in the 1940s."

Mr Distant added he hoped filming at the site would take just one day and that the film could be screened for the first time in August.

The project itself has been thanks to a crowdfunding campaign which raised £5,000.

The writer and director then spent more than a year conducting in depth research about the Manchester United and England player’s life.

Marcus also has his own personal connection to the iconic footballer, as Edwards once babysat for his uncle John Ball and other members of the family.
