Wolverhampton-singer Rebecca Downes wins two British Blues Awards

Wolverhampton blues singer Rebecca Downes has won two awards at this year's annual British Blues Awards.

Rebecca fought off competition from runners-up Connie Lush and Kaz Hawkins in the Female Vocalist category, and Voodoo Sheiks in the Emerging Artist category.

The winners were selected by public vote from a shortlist of nominees previously decided by an official panel of industry figures and champions of blues music. The ceremony took place at Newark Blues Festival in Nottinghamshire.

The awards were set up in 2010 to recognise talent on the blues scene in Britain.

Rebecca was also named Runner Up in the Best Blues Song category for her song Believe which you can hear here:
