The Bewdley singer, who shot to fame on The Voice, was ecstatic after hearing the news yesterday.

She collaborates with Dutch DJ Oliver Heldens on the track.

Last night she tweeted: "MY FIRST EVER NUMBER ONE!! I wanna thank you all for supporting me on #Gecko & @OliverHeldens & @MNEK for having & helping me. Love you all."

Becky , 20, appeared on The Voice in 2012 and was mentored by Jessie J. She went on to feature on Rudimental's track Powerless, taken from their debut album Home.

She told her 40,000 Twitter followers she was celebrating her success in LA.

In the album charts, Ed Sheeran trumped Coldplay with a swift rise to the top.

The Sing vocalist's new album has gone straight in at the number one spot, making it the fastest-selling album of the year so far.

He snatches the crown from former record-holders Coldplay, whose album Ghost Stories sold 168,000 copies in the first week of its May release.

But Sheeran's album X has shifted 182,000 copies this week.

It is also the first time the official singles chart has counted songs played on streaming services like Spotify and Deezer.
