West Midlands based Metpro Group shortlisted for electrical contracting industry awards
Cable containment manufacturer Metpro Group has been shortlisted for the 2026 Electrical Contracting News (ECN) Awards, recognising the company’s continued investment in product innovation and installation efficiency.

Metpro Group, which is based in Wednesbury in the West Midlands, has been named a finalist in three categories in the awards, which shine a spotlight on the very best businesses in the electrical contracting industry.
The company has been shortlisted for the prestigious Manufacturer of the Year award, Cable/Cable Management Product of the Year for its Conlok® (Enhanced Range), and Trade Tool of the Year for its Conlok Torque Key and Steel Conduit Cutter.

Founded more than 30 years ago, Metpro has built a strong reputation in the cable containment sector through its extensive product portfolio, technical expertise and focus on innovation.
Its products have been installed in high-profile developments, including Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the London Underground, while the company continues to expand its international reach, including supplying products for major data centre projects.
The shortlist recognises Metpro’s ongoing commitment to developing practical solutions that help electrical contractors work more efficiently, improve installation quality and address everyday challenges on site.
Conlok is Metpro’s threadless steel conduit system, designed to simplify installation by eliminating the need for traditional threaded connections. Capable of delivering labour savings of more than 75 per cent compared with conventional conduit installation methods, the system has been further enhanced by the introduction of the dedicated Conlok Torque Key.
Calibrated to deliver a consistent tightening torque of 1.2Nm, the Torque Key provides an audible and physical click to confirm when the correct torque has been reached, helping installers achieve consistent connections. Its ergonomic design also supports easier handling during repetitive installation tasks.
The Steel Conduit Cutter, meanwhile, offers contractors a portable alternative to conventional cutting methods. Designed to produce clean, straight cuts while reducing sparks, debris and finishing work, the tool supports a safer and more efficient approach to an everyday installation task.
Paul Hopps, specification sales director at Metpro, said: “Being shortlisted in three categories is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Metpro. It recognises the hard work and commitment of our team, and our determination to keep developing products and services that make a genuine difference to electrical contractors.
“We believe innovation starts with listening to the people who use our products every day. Whether that means simplifying conduit installation, making tools safer and easier to use, or helping customers reduce onsite labour through prefabrication, our focus is on finding practical solutions to real industry challenges.
“Our nomination for Manufacturer of the Year is particularly encouraging because it reflects the wider direction of the business. We’re investing not only in new products, but also in technical support, training, and our relationships with contractors and specifiers, all with the aim of being the trusted technical partner in the industry.”
The ECN Awards winners will be revealed on December 3 at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Coventry.
