Walsall engineering firm gears up for expansion after £6,000 funding boost
The grant has enabled the husband-and-wife-run business to buy high-tech new equipment
A Walsall-based engineering and manufacturing business is set to expand its workshop capabilities after securing a £6,000 grant from Walsall Business Support.
Golden Eye Automotive Research and Restoration (GEARR) Technologies, founded by husband-and-wife team Tirlok Singh and Jaspreet Kaur, provides design engineering, product development, prototyping, reverse engineering and advanced manufacturing support for the automotive industry.

The business also operates HydroLux, which offers premium customisation services for motorcycle and car enthusiasts, including hydrographics, paintwork, carbon fibre skinning, airbrushing, vinyl graphics and restoration work.
Initially operated from the Urban HAX workspace, the business moved into its own workshop in August 2025, allowing it to expand its manufacturing activity and invest in equipment and processes.
The grant has enabled the company, which is now based in Rollingmill Street, to buy two welding machines, an extra 3D printer to support prototyping and product development activities, mould-making kits for the development of automotive carbon fibre components, and raw materials for their HydroLux hydrographics and custom finishing services.
Jaspreet Kaur, co-founder of GEARR Technologies, said: “We applied for this funding because we had reached a stage where investment in equipment and workshop infrastructure would significantly accelerate our growth and help us bring more work in-house.
“The grant has helped us bring more work in-house, improve efficiency and expand the range of services we can offer, as well as supporting our wider development plans across both engineering and custom finishing.”
Led by leading business figures to distribute funds collected from the legacy of Walsall Chamber of Commerce, Walsall Business Support funds projects to enhance the borough’s economy.
Walsall Business Support board member John Davis said: “GEARR Technologies is a fantastic example of a business using specialist equipment investment to build capacity and develop new services. Supporting businesses like this helps strengthen the advanced engineering and manufacturing base we have in Walsall.”
