The new store opened at 8am and hundreds flocked to get a glimpse inside.

Manager Shane Giles said: "Today has gone really, really well and we've had plenty of people through the door. We've had lots of good comments. We have fantastic offers and all of our staff are very customer focused. That's one of the things that is very important to us."

Among customers that flocked to today's opening was 80-year-old Arthur Hancox, from Fordhouses. He said: "It's very cheap. You can't argue with the prices."

An official opening of the store will take place on Saturday, with Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Livesy, cutting the ribbon at 10am.
