The 31,000 sq ft store is part of the £35 million revamp of the shopping centre and its homeware section will even have its own separate entrance at the shop, which will be next to the former BHS store on the ground floor. So far only eight H&M stores in the UK stock the Home collection.

On the opening day, customers in the queue before 11am will receive a 25 per cent discount wristband that can be used for in-store purchases throughout the day.

H&M's UK manager, Carlos Duarte, said: "The re-development of the Mander Centre created the perfect opportunity for the H&M brand to expand into Wolverhampton. The inclusion of our homeware range in the offering continues to ensure our stores remain exciting and inspiring fashion destinations for our customers."

Peter Cornforth, of Mander Centre owner Benson Elliot, added: "To have chosen Wolverhampton to showcase its H&M Home collection is great news, not just for the city, but the wider region. The brand is well-placed to benefit from a city centre regeneration programme in full swing."
