Hotel owners win best B&B and guest house of the year
The owners of a Staffordshire hotel have picked up a top accolade.

Andy Guest and Helen Faulkner, the owners of Eagle House in Eccleshall, were thrilled to receive The Enjoy Staffordshire Gold award for best B&B and guest house of the year in the Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards.
It was the 10th anniversary of the award ceremony and the National Memorial Arboretum near Lichfield provided the back drop for the prestigious awards.
The husband and wife team have worked hard over the last three years, setting up and running their business.

They won silver in last year’s competition and are delighted to now receive the top award, acknowledging their progression and success.
They also received bronze awards in the self catering accommodation of the year and ethical, responsible and sustainable tourism categories.

Andy said: “It is a great honour to win these awards and we’d like to thank all the staff at Enjoy Staffordshire for running such a wonderful and inspiring event.”
Eagle House is a Grade II listed residence, with over 200 years of history.
It offers three spacious and elegant bed and breakfast rooms as well as the Eagle’s Nest, a cosy one bedroom self-catering apartment.

Helen said: “We feel so lucky to live in Eccleshall.
"It is such a warm and welcoming community, there is always something going on and so many nice places to eat and drink.
"But we also have the tranquil Staffordshire countryside right on our doorstep and our guests also love to explore all the pretty woods and footpaths."
The couple now have plans to improve Eagle House even further and hope to make the building more eco-friendly.
