Ansons marks first year in Dudley with 15-strong team and second floor expansion

12 months after moving into Dudley the office has outgrown its original floor and further recruitment is planned this year

Midlands law firm Ansons is marking the first anniversary of its Dudley office this October with a team that has grown to 15 people and a move to take on the second floor of its Castle Court base.

The firm, which also has offices in Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield and Cannock, opened in Dudley in October 2025 at a time when many law firms were closing branches and moving services online.

Now, 12 months on, the office has outgrown its original floor and recruitment is set to continue.

Since opening, Ansons has recruited across every level of the business in Dudley, from experienced senior solicitors to newly qualified lawyers and trainees starting their careers.

The team is drawn from Dudley and the wider Black Country, reflecting the firm’s commitment to building from within the area rather than bringing people in from elsewhere.

The office is well placed for what comes next for the town - located next to the new Metro line into Dudley, which is due to open shortly - connecting the town centre to Birmingham.

Martin de Ridder, managing director of Ansons Law, said: “When we opened in Dudley a year ago, we did it because we believed the town deserved a firm that would put down proper roots here.

“Growing to 15 people and taking on the second floor in our first year tells you how that bet has gone. We’ve hired local people at every stage of their careers, and that’s exactly how we want to keep growing.”

The Dudley office provides a full range of legal services to individuals and businesses across Dudley and the Black Country.

Ansons expects to make further appointments in Dudley over the coming year.
