Wolves boss Kenny Jackett has warned against placing too much pressure on returning striker Nouha Dicko ahead of his comeback.

The 24-year-old sat out almost the whole of last season with a cruciate knee ligament injury and was sorely missed with Wolves struggling for goals.

Dicko is set to return for the start of pre-season training at the end of June, with his comeback having been on track in recent months.

Fans will be hoping the Mali international can strike up a partnership with £3m signing Joe Mason.

But Jackett, while delighted to have Dicko back, doesn't want to heap too much pressure on his returning striker.

He told the Express & Star: "It will be great to get Dicko back, although I don't want to put too much pressure on him from that start.

"Similarly, he's talking very positively and he wants to be ready.

"He wants to be training from day one of pre-season and ready for the games.

"If he's looking like that, it'll be very interesting to see how he can produce the goods in pre-season and how he looks.

"And then from my point of view how we build a team around him, get a compliment, get the power around him, service from the wide areas and midfield, that can put him in a position to get the goals."

Dicko has scored 29 goals in 65 Wolves appearances, 51 of those being starts.

He notched one in six before suffering his season-ending injury during a 2-1 victory over Charlton at Molineux last August.
