Conor Coady hailed Saturday's victory over Derby as 'massive' – and called for Wolves to build on the result with more of the same.

Coady gave a superb midfield display in the 2-1 win.

Two goals from George Saville ended the team's seven-game winless streak and lifted the gloom around the club after three successive defeats.

And Coady said: "It was massive for us.

"We were under a bit of pressure going into the game having not won for a while and we knew what we had to do.

"We executed the plan we needed to do and it was a fantastic team performance from the lads.

"We can really build on this now. We know we have got good players in the squad and we know we can score goals.

"But it is about that confidence and we needed the early goal.

"We needed to keep the ball better as a team and we did that and we closed it down – probably the best we have done all season."

Coady has been a mainstay in midfield in recent weeks.

And he is hoping for a repeat performance from the team at Middlesbrough on Friday.

"I want to help the team as much as possible, I want to close people down and get in the thick of things," he said.

"Hopefully I can keep on doing that, keep on enjoying my football and we can keep on winning.

"I thought we were better than them and we played really well.

"The last few weeks have been really down for us and it hadn't been good enough from us as a club.

"We really bounced back and against a top, top team as well.

"When Derby come to town you know you are in for a tough game and they have spent a lot of money as well so to win has to give us confidence.

"We need to take that forward now and hopefully keep on winning and keep on progressing.

"We need to go to Middlesbrough and do exactly what we did against Derby – press when we can and hopefully come up with a goal or two."
