And the under-fire Wolves boss says it's up to him and his team to win over the Molineux supporters. Fans have turned on the club, the players or Jackett in each of Wolves' past three successive defeats. "A good start's going to be crucial," Jackett said.

"But a good start, middle and end – and a good performance and result – is what we're working towards.

"That will be the thing that gets the fans onside.

"It's a great game and big game against a good side.

"It's one we're looking forward to and one we want to rise to.

"I think it'll be a good atmosphere, I think the crowd will get behind us.

"Invariably they'll react to what they see on the pitch, whether that be good, bad or indifferent.

"That's OK, it's up to us to take the lead and lift that crowd. And we're capable of doing that."

Jackett cut an isolated figure at the end of Tuesday's miserable 3-0 defeat to Brentford, with supporters shouting abuse at him as he walked to the tunnel.

Many fans have begun questioning his position.

And Jackett said of supporters' opinions during games: "I don't want to project that you don't take any notice or you don't feel it, because you do, on a personal level.

"And then after that you've got to work out quickly what you can do about that.

"You're very aware, you don't miss anything.

"It's not something you can necessarily ignore. But also you are trying to then work out a way to turn things around, turn things positive.

"And the way is always on the pitch.

"Your next game then becomes massively important, particularly if you have three or four days between one game and another, which invariably you do in the Championship."
