Conor Coady says the onus is on the Wolves players to get the fans behind them – and that they're hurting as much as anyone over the team's recent form.

Kenny Jackett's team travelled to Huddersfield today looking to end a five-game winless run.

With a third of the season to go, time is running out for Wolves to make any kind of impact on the play-off picture.

And Coady, who was hoping to face his former team-mates at the John Smith's Stadium, spoke of the need to produce victories to turn last week's negative reaction around.

"The onus is on us to rectify that," he said. "It's a massive football club that needs to win games as quickly as possible.

"We were all very disappointed last Saturday. When you get beat it becomes the worst week in the world. You want to put it right as soon as possible.

"We go home to our families and it's the worst thing in the world for our wives and girlfriends, believe me."

Coady has yet to break his goalscoring duck for Wolves. But he hopes that armed with extra finishing practice in training he can change that before long.

"It's something I need to work on, I need to contribute with goals this season," he said. "It's something I'm working on in training. I'm practising and doing extra shooting sessions on the training ground, so hopefully it'll come.

"The gaffer's big on midfield runners getting in the box. I need to contribute more to that side of my game.

"I had a spell out of the team (earlier in the season. Looking at it now it might have done me well. I sat there and I learned, I watched the games and watched the lads in my positions and saw what I could improve, and what they do well."
