Mike Williamson will not play at Huddersfield

Mike Williamson won't be fit for Saturday's trip to Huddersfield – as Wolves ruled out recalling Jed Wallace from his loan at Millwall.

Centre-half Williamson has returned to training but needs a game for the under-21s before he will be considered for first-team selection.

However, there is positive news on the injury front with Kortney Hause expected to be fit to face Huddersfield on Saturday after he came through last night's Birmingham Senior Cup game against Solihull Moors.

James Henry was yesterday added to a lengthening absentee list with a hamstring strain.

The winger is out for three weeks. But Kenny Jackett said he has no plans to bring back young midfielder Wallace, who has starred for the Lions in a nine-game spell.

The Wolves boss said: "It's been a good spell for him and we want him to continue progressing.

"We have Van La Parra and Byrne so the wide right position has been okay.

"In terms of wide left it's more of a problem for us, but we're not looking to recall Jed."

Williamson has been out with a hamstring injury since he was recalled by former club Newcastle in December.

It was hoped he would be fit to face Preston last Saturday, but he remains out of the first-team picture.

"Williamson's progressing but he's not near a game yet in terms of the under-21s, or more likely an in-house game," Jackett said.

"He'll need one (game), but we can do that and make sure he gets that as and when he's ready."

Of Hause's chances of facing Huddersfield, he added: "We hope so, we've been very thorough and diligent with him because it was a recurrence of his hamstring injury."

And on Henry, Jackett said: "He's a player that's had a good influence and looked a goal threat, so it's a loss but three weeks is OK, he'll be back soon enough."
