Kenny Jackett said after Saturday's goalless draw with Brighton that he would examine different camera angles of the incident before deciding whether to appeal.

And the Wolves chief said replays didn't show that the referee had made a 'clear mistake'.

Jackett, who admitted he was 'surprised' at the red card. said the decision was still difficult to take.

"We won't be appealing," he said. "The video doesn't show that it is a clear mistake by the referee.

"I felt that with everything that went on in the game with different situations – and Dave Edwards being a prime example - I don't think it was the worst tackle in the game.

"But being able to appeal and get Conor off it isn't possible – the video doesn't give enough chance to say it was a deliberate mistake by the referee.

"We have to accept the referees' decision which is a hard one to take because Conor is a big player for us."

Coady had played every minute of Wolves' opening league games this season before the red card, which came four minutes after half time for a foul on Liam Rosenior.
