The out-of-contract wide man, who has offers from a host of Premier League clubs including Albion and Villa, is reported to be asking for a massive £16m over a four-year contract.

Sako is hawking himself around but his representatives are thought to be using the huge £80,000-a-week as a starting point for negotiations.

It's double that of Albion's top earner Joleon Lescott, who is believed to be on £40,000-a-week.

The agents of the Mali international were sent packing last month by the Baggies and Villa, after it emerged they were seeking £50,000 to£60,000-a-week for their client.

Sako, who scored 36 goals in 118 league games for Wolves, is available on a Bosman free transfer when his deal runs out on June 30 and has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.

With no transfer fee, the former St Etienne man will pick up a hefty signing-on fee but is believed to be seeking huge wages as well.

In addition to Albion and Villa, Leicester, Newcastle, Stoke and Sunderland also considering a move for the 27-year-old, who has lucrative offers to go to the Middle East.

But his demands are likely to scare off any of those English clubs.

He currently earns £25,000-a-week at Molineux and Wolves insisted they would be making their 15-goal top scorer an offer.

But there is little point when his advisors are seeking such an extortionate amount and knowing they can't offer him Premier League football.

Sako has indicated he will decide his future after he has played for Mali in a double-header against Guinea-Bissau on June 18 and July 2.

The news comes as he was named as the Championship's most skilful player.

In Opta stats just released, Sako has made more dribbles – 115 – than any other player in the second tier, along with 15 goals and seven assists from 41 games.

The Paris-born winger finished ahead of Nottingham Forest's Michail Antonio.

He produced 104 dribbles, 14 goals and 12 assists from his 46 league matches in his first campaign at the City Ground, following his £1.5million move from Sheffield Wednesday.

In third place is Norwich's former Birmingham City's Nathan Redmond, 21, who made 102 dribbles and netted four times while also matching Antonio's dozen assists from his 44 appearances.

The top five was completed by Brighton's Congo international Kazenga Lua Lua, 24, and Bournemouth's one-time Wolves target Callum Wilson, 23.

Lua Lua made 73 dribbles, three assists and netted three goals from his 34 games, while Wilson completed 68 dribbles with seven assists and 20 goals from 45 outings.
