Nouha Dicko has backed fellow attacker Bakary Sako to be fully focused on firing Wolves to the Premier League when he makes his Championship return.

The winger is in line to play against Reading on Saturday, after missing four games while playing for Mali in the African Cup of Nations.

Sako's future was the subject of much speculation during the January transfer window, with rumours of interest from Albion and Villa among others in a player whose Molineux contract expires this summer.

But striker Dicko, who along with Sako is Wolves' joint top scorer with seven goals, believes his fellow Mali international will only have one thing on his mind as he makes his club return.

He said: "Everybody will be happy to see Bakary back. If he is here with us and in form I feel really confident for the team.

"Every transfer window there has been speculation and everybody knows he is a very good player who could play at the top level.

"I know Bakary and I think we can all see how much he likes it here at Wolves. You can see from when Wolves went down and he stayed that he cares about the club and the fans.

"There is no doubt at all that he is going to do everything he can to help Wolves get promoted.

"I don't know what will happen in the summer and it's his career but, whatever happens, he has respected his contract here and given everything for Wolves.

"The most important thing for all of us at the moment is that he comes back in good form and does well for the team which is what he will be trying to do.

"He is a very good player who could be a key player for us between now and the end of the season."
