[gallery]George Elokobi will bid farewell to Wolves after a six-and-a-half-year stay after the club decided not to renew his contract.

The Cameroon-born defender first arrived at Molineux after being signed from Colchester in January, 2008, and has been a hugely popular figure at the club.

All in all he made 103 appearances in Wolves' colours.

"George has been a fantastic servant to this club since his arrival in 2008, proving to be a hugely popular figure with team-mates, staff and fans alike," said Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey today.

Head Coach Kenny Jackett added: "George has been a fantastic servant to the club and I am sure everyone will join me in wishing him all the best for the future.

"It is also important to thank him for everything he has done during a long career at Wolves where he has been a key influence both on and off the pitch."

Elokobi will now be looking to press on and find a new challenge to continue a career which has taken him from non-league with Dulwich Hamlets to the Premier League with Wolves.

Before that however he is set to be introduced to the crowd at some point on Saturday, and is to take to the Molineux pitch for one last time as a Wolves player in Jody Craddock's testimonial match on Monday.
