Kenny Jackett: Wolves strikers could be set for exit

Kenny Jackett today admitted Wolves' search for added firepower could lead to several players through the Molineux exit door this month.

moreSochaux striker Abdoul Camara has been on trial for the last two days, while sources insist Wolves have had a bid rejected for Coventry's Leon Clarke and they are monitoring attacking midfielders Callum McGregor and Alex Pritchard after signing Nouha Dicko.

Head coach Jackett hinted his search is embracing the best of the young prospects who have impressed on loan in League One.

That includes 20-year-olds McGregor, who has scored 12 goals for Notts County, and Pritchard, at Swindon on loan from Tottenham.

Pritchard's season-long agreement at the County Ground can be terminated if Spurs' £1m asking price is matched and he has been watched regularly by Wolves.

Leigh Griffiths has been linked with Celtic and now Leeds, Kevin Doyle with Middlesbrough and Bjorn Sigurdarson Coventry, as part of a deal for Clarke.

Jackett, who was locked in talks with head of development Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Jez Moxey yesterday, said there have been no enquiries for his strikers.

But the boss admits his search could leave Wolves a surplus up front.

"Will it leave us with too many forwards if we bring too many in?" he said.

"Possibly yes, but we have young forwards who it won't do any harm to allow them out on loan.

"If we need to allow players out because we're overloaded in that area, that's a good option we have and we'll do that.

"But that's not our concentration at the moment.

"The players here will follow closely to see who's brought in and watch to see where they are in the pecking order – whether they're in or out, on the fringes or whether a player has come in to replace them, or breathe down their neck."

Jackett said of the Griffiths speculation: "There's been no contact to Jez, Kevin or myself."

As for Sigurdarson, Jackett said: "His agent did say he needed regular football but as of now, he's here and he's continuing to train.

"We've heard nothing from any club about him."
