'Blame cup exit on me' says Wolves boss Kenny Jackett

Wolves today prepared to wheel out their big guns to inflict an FA Cup backlash on Brentford as Kenny Jackett demanded an immediate response from his players.

Matt Doherty, Kevin Doyle and Dave Edwards, as well as new loan signing Michael Jacobs and Bakary Sako, should all be in contention for Saturday's visit of the in-form Bees as Jackett looks to erase the disappointment of Tuesday night's first-round replay defeat by Oldham.

Doherty has recovered from the hamstring injury that has kept him out for the last six games and Doyle has returned from international duty with Ireland.

Jacobs is now eligible while Edwards was rested and Sako is hoping to shake off a hamstring niggle that caused him to miss Tuesday's replay.

"Hopefully we'll have some players back in terms of team selection," said head coach Jackett.

"If we can get something like our best side out that is what we need to do. Sako missed Tuesday night as a precaution. We don't know yet whether he'll be OK for the next few games."

Jackett wants a double-quick response from the players.

"We need to bounce back," he said. "Tuesday night hurt. It was a disappointing performance and disappointing for the fans.

"We'll have to show a big improvement. We didn't show enough appetite and the structure and play around our passing wasn't good enough.

"We do look at the bigger picture and three big games coming up so we have to get on to that quickly and learn lessons from Tuesday night.

"We need to be better organised."

Jackett made four changes and admitted he got it wrong against the Latics. He felt those coming into the side – George Elokobi, Bjorn Sigurdarson and Leigh Griffiths – didn't do enough to press their claims.

"It does show when you tinker with the side you have got to make sure you get it right," he said. "I didn't do that on Tuesday.

"You have to give people opportunities that give the side balance and cohesion but those people should have put better cases forward."
