Midfielder Karl Henry's future was today unclear after he came back to Wolves following talks with Queens Park Rangers.

The 30-year-old travelled to west London for discussions on Saturday but they ended without agreement.

Head coach Kenny Jackett said: "Karl has had some conversations with Queens Park Rangers but I don't think it's come to a head.

"He was there on Saturday but then he was playing for our under-21s in the training ground game against West Ham.

"It doesn't seem as if it's about to go ahead. I don't know if that it's irretrievable, but no deal has been done."

It's also unclear as to the make up of any proposed move, with Henry having three years left on his contract and due a hefty signing-on fee each 12 months.

Jackett said: "The transfer fees and wages are quite often mixed into one so it's perhaps a little simplistic to look at a potential deal.

"But anyway, although there have been conversations, it's not come to fruition and, at present, he's a Wolves player."

Henry is one of four players transfer-listed with Roger Johnson, Stephen Ward and Jamie O'Hara.

Meanwhile, Jackett wants to sign a left-sided player before the League One opener at Preston.

Wolves were linked with a £300,000 bid for Leeds left-back or winger Aiden White, 21, at the weekend.

Zeli Ismail played wide on the left and scored the opener in Saturday's 2-2 friendly draw at Barnsley, while substitute Leigh Griffiths featured as a left-sided attacker as Wolves played 4-3-3 for the last 26 minutes.

Jackett said: "You're always looking for one or two and we're working hard at trying to identify potential targets. That's ongoing.

"I'm pleased with the players' work ethic, but we definitely need to try to improve from outside."

Bakary Sako (hamstring) and Kevin Doyle (groin) are set to return in tomorrow's friendly at Chesterfield.
