The offer, which Craddock is happy to sign, will qualify the defender for a well-deserved testimonial.
Evergreen Craddock was told by boss Ståle Solbakken last week that he had missed out on the pre-season trip to Ireland.
Such is the esteem he is held in around the club, his team-mates were upset to think it could mean the end of his time at Molineux without what many felt was a proper reward after nine years of sterling service.
But the new 12-month deal, which allows Craddock to become involved in coaching the academy and as a club ambassador but on reduced terms, suits all parties.
And the experienced centre-back, who is a UEFA B qualified coach, will still be available to play.
Chief executive Jez Moxey said: "Everyone at Wolves is aware of the qualities of Jody Craddock, both on and off the pitch.
"He's a consummate professional who's a credit to Wolves and everything the club stands for.
"You don't want to lose people like that, which is why, even if his playing opportunities may well be very limited next season, we've agreed to offer him a new deal which will take him to 10 years' service.
Solbakken said: "Jody has a lot of experience and knowledge and can be a very good example to the other players in the squad.
"It's good to have him as cover but also important is he'll be able to do other things to pass on all his experience."
Craddock is delighted to be staying.
He said: "Everybody knows how much I enjoy being at the club and I was working throughout the summer to try to get a new contract.
"I appreciate it's going to very difficult for me to get into the team.
"But the way the deal is structured I can also contribute to the club in other ways.
"That should allow me to meet the fans, who have been terrific to me, particularly in the recent months since Toby was diagnosed with leukaemia.
"I'd like to thank the club for offering me the new deal, which will take me to 10 years here and the opportunity for a testimonial which is fantastic."
