Karl Henry and Nenad Milijas made solid returns for Wolves last night – but victory over Chelsea was a deserved triumph for the Molineux cubs.

The experienced midfielders played 61 and 69 minutes respectively after hamstring and calf injuries.

But the young professionals brought down the Shropshire curtain in style to chalk up only their second AFC Telford win of the season. Impressive striker Liam McAlinden headed a 72nd-minute winner after four goals in 15 first-half minutes saw Chelsea twice take the lead only for Wolves to peg them back.

First, Patrick Bamford fired the visitors ahead after a through-ball from centre-back Rohan Ince in the 12th minute.

Jake Kempton levelled, seven minutes later, tapping home after keeper James Russell failed to hold Anthony Forde's left-foot shot following Henry's sweeping pass.

Within a minute, Lucas Piazon drilled home a fierce shot after Bamford's pass.

But Milijas levelled on 26 with a superb effort, driving low into the bottom corner after taking McAlinden's short pass in his stride before unleashing from 25 yards.

Wolves looked unlucky not to win a penalty in first-half time added on after defender George Saville appeared to push Kempton to the ground.

The hosts continued to take the game to Chelsea after the break, and, after Forde's cross had been headed off the line by Ince, Forde was only inches away with a thunderous angled drive from 30 yards.

McAlinden headed Wolves a deserved winner on 72 minutes when he glanced home from Cranston's left-wing cross following sustained pressure.

Kempton should have grabbed a fourth Wolves goal, only to miss his kick from McAlinden's cross.
