Stephen Hunt was today seeing a specialist amid fears he could become the third Wolves player in two days to be ruled out for the rest of the season.

Hunt has not responded to treatment on his hernia problem after seeing a specialist two weeks ago and has now been booked in for a second opinion.

Jamie O'Hara (groin) and Jody Craddock (hamstring) were ruled out for the run-in yesterday after undergoing operations on Monday.

Now there are concerns that Ireland international Hunt could go the same way.

"Stephen Hunt pulled out of training yesterday and he's seeing a specialist today with Steve Kemp (head of medical department)," said manager Terry Connor.

"It's the ongoing stuff with his groin. He was on the bench on Saturday and trained on Monday and felt it, and he trained yesterday morning.

"But the general consensus of opinion was he'd get it looked at."

Hunt, who had a hernia operation in February 2011, has not improved after being told to continue training a fortnight ago, even though he was an unused substitute against Manchester United and Bolton.

"He was given some treatment and a course of fitness work," said Connor.

"We were prepared to use him as a sub on Saturday because he didn't have 90 minutes in him.

"But, having tried him on Monday and yesterday, we feel the best thing for Stephen was for the doctors to take another look and see if they can get to the root of the problem."

Connor, who said Dave Edwards should be fine in a couple of days after a mild chest infection, expressed his disappointment at losing O'Hara and Craddock.

"They'll be out for about six weeks so that just about ends the season for them," he said. "It's very disappointing."

Karl Henry and Nenad Milijas came through 60 and 69 minutes respectively in last night's 3-2 reserves win over Chelsea at AFC Telford.
