Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today urged his side to 'seize the day' and make the most of their luck against Everton.

Saturday's opponents have lost six of the last seven, although they have played Chelsea twice, both Manchester clubs, Liverpool and surprise packet Newcastle in that sequence.

The match at Goodison Park will be played against a backdrop of dissent on the blue half of Merseyside, with Everton supporters set to stage a second protest march against the board before the game.

McCarthy is concentrating on matters on the pitch and believes teams get lucky at certain points of the season, after ending their run of one point in seven games with a 3-1 win against Wigan before the international break.

He said: "I just think there are times in a season when you hit form and it works out for you. It's a fickle finger of fate sometimes – look at Wigan. It was our day. We got away with it.

"But I kept saying it would turn for us because of the way we were playing. I do think there are periods in a season where you just get lucky."
