Wolves winger Matt Jarvis insists he needed a rest after being dropped
Tuesday 15th November 2011, 10:30AM GMT.
Wolves winger Matt Jarvis today insisted his rest was just what he needed to return to his best.
The England international suffered as much as anyone during the team’s run of one point in seven games before being dropped for the last two games.
But the 25-year-old has come on in both and looked fresh and bright in the 3-1 win against Wigan, when he set up Stephen Ward’s goal.
Jarvis said: “The last few weeks have been hard for all of us. But to get back to it and have a good 45 minutes and help the team to a much-needed win is a great confidence booster for me.
“I was pleased to get back to what I do best – trying to supply the team with opportunities to score. I just wanted to get back to the form I know I’m capable of and put my stamp on the game.”
