Time to map out a plan for Villa's future

Nenad Milijas in Wolves quit threat
Thursday 6th October 2011, 11:45AM BST.
Wolves midfielder Nenad Milijas today set himself a December deadline to win his place back – or quit.
The Serbia international’s only senior football this season has been in the Carling Cup and he wasn’t even on the bench for Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle.
Playmaker Milijas is settled in Wolverhampton but reluctantly admits he will look at his options before the transfer window opens in January if he can’t secure regular football.
The 28-year-old said: “If it carries on like this then I will try to leave to go somewhere where I will play. I want to be here but if I can’t play then it’s better for me to go somewhere else.
“But we’ll see – there are many games before I need to do anything like that. We will have another look in December.”

I would like to see others leave before you do. Can’t understand why one of the most gifted players we have can’t even warm the bench. Absolute joke.
Give Nenad a chance Mick!
Don’t blame him one iota. Problem is he is skilful and not a shift worker. Unfortunately that doesn’t fit into MM’s ethics. To be fair he probably isn’t the only who should be feeling aggrieved and wondering why they ever came.
Such a talanted player but will never get a look in again im sad to say.
As for moxey on about delaying ground being built – has he ever thought of reducing prices ticket prices, ticket line on normal rates and cheaper food! make molineux 40k+ and charge adults £15 & kids £5, then the ground will be packed every game.
Milijas is bit of an enigma. A talented and gifted player but too often drifts out of the game for long periods. He can be a match winner or a luxury depending on how you look at it.
On balance I hope he remains as he could be useful in certain games to open up the opposition.
The deadline he’s set himself is probably a reasonable timescale. If he’s not going to be even considered to be on the bench, it’s better that, for all concerned, he moves on.
Be a shame. When someone like O’hara has a bad games (Newcastle) and probably wont be dropped you can understand his frustration.
Has he ever had a long run in the starting line up?
Well its not a suprise is it, What a waste of a great talent, but if you want to play in MM team first and foremost you’ve got to run and run and run, till you drop. But Milijas isn’t that type of player, but surely MM knew this when watching him play? Or at least his scout should have told him that? I personally think he’s got exceptional ‘skill and vision’ he can see a pass 20-40yrds away, he’s also got a terrific shot on him, and scores some cracking goals from free-kicks or direct shots. imo i think we’ve got plenty of ‘runners’ in our squad, but not enough of the skillful type such as Nenad, every team needs runners/grafters but you must have ‘skill/vision’ on the pitch, and their isn’t a better player than Nenad Milijas for that. But at Liverpool last season he more than proved he can graft, again imo id play him and leave out O’Hara who’s form to me as dipped somewhat lately, i would sooner see Henry doing his defensive job, which again imo he does very well,O’Hara for me gets himself in trouble and plays others around him into trouble, very similar to what David Jones did whenever he played. But alas im only a ‘NUMPTY’ UTW:
Why is this player so under used?? Surely he is the type of player a team should be built around.
When he signed, was he not captain of his national team, and is now not used. I personally think we have hampered his international and club career.
Anyway, up the Wolves……. whoever is selected……

MILIJIAS IS THE PLAYER THAT IS AN EXAMPLE,UNFAIRLY TREATED BY THE MANAGER,A MANAGER WHO DOES NOT FAVOUR HIS TALENT,A MANAGER WHO DEMANDED HIS GAME BE CHANGED,MILIJIAS OBLIGED YET THE LAD DOES NOT GET A CHANCE,BUT YOU NEVER HEAR A “PEEP” OUT OF HIM……YET PLAYERS WHO ARE OUT OF FORM AND ARE PERFORMING BADLY ARE GETTING PREFERANTIAL TREATMENT.I HAVE NOTHING BUT SUPPORT FOR PLAYERS IT IS THE MANAGER” THAT IS A BIG BIG BIG PROBLEM ” AT OUR CLUB!!!!!
I AM SICK OFF EVERYONE EXCUSING HIS PIG HEADINESS AT THE EXPENSE OF OUR FOOTBALL CLUB!!!
EVEN PLANS REF GROUND DEVELOPMENT ARE COMING TO A HALT….A GROUND THAT WILL ONLY FILL WITHOUT THE HURT DISHED OUT EVERY WEEK BY “mm”!!!!
NOTHING TO DO WITH TV “MOXEY” TV AS BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS NOTHING GENERATES EXCITEMENT MORE THAN BEING AT THE GROUND ON MATCHDAY!!!!!
WIN A FEW GAMES AND WATCH THE FANS COME BACK,TIMES ARE HARD AND WHY SHOULD FANS FORK OUT GOOD MONEY FOR “”MM’S EGO”" HE PICKS PLAYERS HE LIKES THE LOOK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nenad not quite Prem class, but cant do any worse than O,Hara at the moment.
Sure to start in Carling Cup against City.
Wondered how long it would be before somebody started hinting that they want out due to lack of first team action. With Henry and O’Hara not in exactly the best of form but still being selected, then the wrong message is being sent to the others i.e. You’ll only be on the bench or get in if those two are injured!! Who will be next to declare their desire to leave, come the January transfer window? Hope it doesn’t happen, but it won’t take much to unravel the seemingly good dressing room spirit we supposedly have!
We don’t need him anyway.
All he offers is creativity and we don’t want to encourage any of that at the Molineux.
I would move if i were him cos thicko will only play his favourites he wouldnt know a good player from a bad one look at the likes of henry berra ward and now we have ohara shouting his mouth off i wonder what he will say about nenad
Report abuse
Rightly so… without criticising Henry (as this may cause mr Spiers to write another blog) i cannot see why Nenad hasn’t even been given a chance at starting a match in Henry’s role???… When he plays for serbia he plays the DMF role and we are desperately requiring a base for some well-composed attack from the middle of the field!!! maybe even drop o’hara one of the weeks and see what happens… definitely too much of an asset to lose! i just cannot see why mick hasn’t got the gonads to try at least one game starting without henry!!
Might as well pack your bags now Nenad, no way will MM exclude one of his favourites for you
Report abuse
Might be time to start packing early then, Nenad. Shame. You never even accepted my offer to join me in the Newhampton for a bottle of Rioja and a go on the quizzie.
Give him a game against the Tesco’s Mick and drop O’Hara who has been shocking and does not deserve his place at the moment.
Fair enough I suppose…
Report abuse
Another reason why MM should get on his bike!
If he does leave then i seriously think we will not replace him. Typical MM signing if you dont put a shift in you dont play, and he would have known this watching him for Serbia, would be good a better footballing team, however that we aint. Who to leave next…hopefully Doyle for good money, up the 3pm football on pub tv.

One of the most technically gifted players to have ever worn the shirt. A footballing genius. Its worth the entrance money just to watch how he controls the ball.

Good luck Nenad, too good for us in any case, I’m sure you will come back to haunt us with a club that deserves your talent. At least your decision makes it easier for the muppet to substantiate playing his favourites each week

Nenad, you can’t be having a mind of you’re own like this.
You speak out of turn, you’re gone.
Good on you Nenad, You know as well as we do there is no moving Henry & Ohara even though they have been very poor so far.
Good to know you want to play footall and not just bleed the club dry. Your the only technically gifted player we have maybe with the exception of adlene but still are not given the chance to shine
Report abuse
what a complete waste ! An experienced international (and ex captain) and now he can’t even get on the bench – DISGRACE MM.
Oh sorry, i forgot that we’re unbeaten in the league and playing fabulous football – that’s why he can’t get a game.
Nenad, you’d better change your name to Edwards or Kightly then you’d be in even in you’d been out injured for months !!!!
He can’t be worse than some already playing. In fact his disadvantage is he’s too good.
hes the only player in our team who i can say has real premier leauge quality but mick dosnet like his work rate id play him and o hara in the middle with o hara playing a bit deeper COYW
Report abuse
dont blame you ,when you cant get in in preference to the rubbish mad mick picks,no room for skill in this team,as for doyle playing like in a desert, surely trapatoni means like running in sand ,bring on the baggies, hopefully step closer to micks exit
Report abuse
I will be disapointed if Milijas leaves. He is a quality player, but because he doesnt run round the pitch like a headless chicken wont be given a chance.
Why not drop Ohara & Henry and give our two best central midfielders a chance. (Milijas & Guedioura)
On current form Milijas should br in the team in place of O’Hara, who is way out of form.
Dont agree with players making threats to clubs but,
i agree with Milijas!
this is the problem MM has produced! playing players out of form week after week and keeping quality on bench or worse!
what you going to do now MM?
Something tells me he wouldnt be that bothered if Milijas left, he has never liked him! and it would give him another opportunity to kick us fans in teeth!
a no brainer for the man woth half a brain Mr MM
Report abuse
Dont blame you milijas, id want to leave if karl henry was ahead of me in the wolves team! Quality player not given the chance again!
The most talented footballer in the wolves squad but can’t get a game in front of kelvin Henry, just shows what a numpty of a manager we have with McArthy
Report abuse
You still have it all to do son. I thought you were going to be a class act for WW – a great signing. You clearly have talent, but to play in our league you need to be fitter and aware of your defensive duties, whilst still being creative. I would love to see you play regularly and it must be hard for a seasoned international like you to be eclipsed by young guns who still have it all to prove. Hope you roll up your sleeves, ENSURE YOU ARE FITTER and do the business. If not, THANKS. Would we get our money back for him?
Give him a game or two lets see what he’s made of struggling to understand how a once serbian player of the year suddenly is not good enough!
You need to go and buy your girl friend a ferrari mate, play crap football, run like a kenyan all day and pass the ball backwards then you might get a game but until then you aint got a chance of getting a game….Right im off got to go and buy the Mrs a knew ferrari…
Report abuse
I wouldn’t blame him if he does leave in December if he doesn’t get first-team status…
I’d like to see him stay here, but the problem is the decision of whether he does get some games in will be entirely up to MM – he’s not gonna be swayed by either this or how the fans rate him!
I completely support Milijas on this, it is refreshing to hear of a player that is not content to just pick up the money. I doubt whether he would move for higher wages – so he is accepting a pay cut to get regular football. McCarthy has not given this player a fair chance, particularly when you think of some of the dire performances offered up by other midfielders – but Milijas is clearly not a favourite with MM. What’s the betting he moves on and becomes an instant success at another club
Report abuse
congratulations mick almost mission completed you have nearly drove the most creative player out of the club on the plus side 1 more space for another headless chicken who needs quality when you can run all day.come on morgan get a grip he’s making the club a laughing stock
Report abuse
Can’t say that I blame him!
One of our most talented players who is fit but MM prefers his favourites who are unfit like Edwards and Kightly.
MM cannot handle talented players!
Good luck Nenad because you deserve better than the treatment that you are receiving under MM.
Leave now if you can’t get a game in a poor team.
Henry can’t play on his own in midfield with O’Hara always trying to make himself look good with a dream free kick, shot, or pass which never come off and the wingers ‘waiting’ on the wing and not helping in midfield.
Mick will have to play again with one up front soon to get any more points.
So why not play Milijas as the extra midfield man at least we would have some good passes, free kicks and perhaps a quality through ball?
Mick has picked out his key faults:
1. He didnt play in the championship
2. He is creative
3. Doesn’t run around like a headless chicken
4. He is not Stephen Ward
Report abuse
Mick needs to ring some changes….
Nenad could easily be joined by Adlene, what does it take to get MM to see the light….
UTW
Report abuse
This can’t be allowed to happen. I would rather McCarthy went, any day of the week. It would be a sad statement of affairs if a player of this ability level can’t get past the Carling clup whilst we have players like Henry as first pick
Report abuse
Nooo – that would not be good – probably our most talented player… although maybe he’s just playing Mick along with a pretend threat…
Report abuse
It’s a real shame if Milijas leaves. He should play on a regular basis, as long as he’s up to it (which I think he is), and especially now as midfield seems unbalanced due to some of the players delivering sub-standard performances lately. He has a really good touch, is pure class passing the ball and has a great shot (even if he misses the target sometimes). Class player, and it is of course quite understandable if he wants to play regular first team football. Which he should be doing in Wolves. UTW!
Would like to see him given a chance, I dont think O’hara has been quite as impressive in the last few games Nenad is the obvious replacement or possibly Adlene
Report abuse
Bye then.
I don’t blame him one bit, he’s already a hero in my eyes for putting up with MM’s vagaries of team choice for as long as he has!! A player of his quality, a Serbian International, who has worked hard to adapt to the English game & shown his committment by moving to the area, should at least have been given more opportunities to show his skills. How he is kept out of the squad by Henry, O’Hara, Ward etc is beyond me.If MM isn’t going to play him, why sign him in the first place?? Has he suddenly become a worse player since we signed him? The mind boggles at the goings on behind the scenes at Molineux!!
really dont know why he aint been playing must be because we are such a force in the prem we dont need surbian international playmakers like nenad…..did i say force or farce must be a mick thing.

He can just join the ever growing list of decent players Mick has forced out the club.. Post 44 summed it up perfectly – he aint in the “inner circle”.
how can you blame him, face dosent fit.No chance
Report abuse
I like Nenad and hope that he will get some regular football with us – but if it doesn’t happen, no one can blame him for wanting to move on. His current situation can’t be helping his international status. Re. the ground development – is JM using the TV business as an excuse?
I applaud Nenad for having really worked on his game. I saw his first game for us and he was sadly off the pace. He certainly improved but has never really been able to stamp his authority on the team as a really influential midfield general. His scoring rate too is pretty mediocre.
However, I agree with those who say he should be given a chance when O’Hara is playing poorly. Let’s hope this period out of the team will have sharpened his desire and that he is given a chance. But I suspect Mick will not care for him coming out in public like this!
Such a shame Mick has kept with the Jamie “I think I’m the best” Hollywood O’Hara and Karl “I’ll never lose my place” Henry and not given Milijas even a moments chance. In the Carling Cup he has done well.
Hope he goes onto better things to prove Mad Mick wrong.
On yer bike then, you might get in a championship team if you are lucky.fight for your place like everyone else or go ! average player at best.
let him go didnt play our way (far to good ) we got wardy and kelvin, and we only try to play football in the last 10 minutes (if we are losing) otherwise we are defending ! so were would he fit it ?and we are solvent.it is totally beyond a joke ,how can the management of a premiership team (in name only) allow this rubbish to continue.

WOW WE ALL AGREE?! SURELY THAT NEEDS A STORY! :)

It’s a bit like buying an international left back who has played champions league football, and then playing a third choice striker at left back ahead of him. I mean, can you imagine it! Oh, hang on. . . .
Another reason why we will never progress and will forever be relegation fodder under this idiot of a manager.
Milijas will create and help win far more games than his apparent lack of running will lose.
Oh and Moxey, this type of player puts bums on seats !!!!
Good luck Nenad wherever you go, i know that you have been unhappy at not getting a start in the side. Have pleaded with you to be patient but in the long run your skills will be better appreciated by a manager that recognizes talent & doesn’t play his faves match after match regardless of results.
So sad to see you go but i think that you’re doing the right thing.
Well, what a surprise! Not.
The only real surprise is why it’s taken Nenad this long to lose his faith in ever getting a proper chance under Michael McCarthy.
Anyone else of similar quality would’ve chucked the towel in ages ago. My heart bleeds for you, son, as you’re one of the rare talents in this otherwise workmanlike (‘Puts A Shift In’) squad. Don’t think Mick is keen on flair, though, so I’d get ya bags packed now, mate -it’ll save you a bit of time at Christmas.
How sad is that, one of the more talented members of the squad is forced to go public on his disappointment regarding appearances.
We must now assume that having gone public neither he or the supporters, who enjoy his quality and intelligent football, will have the opportunity of cherishing his future EPL development and progress. He has probably blown any future chances with the current manager for daring to speak up.
We all know some lads just don’t fit but it is becoming suspiciously evident that those with a football brain have little chance of success under the McCarthy regime. Goodness knows how many good kids are being wasted at Compton. Gleeson is doing a good job at MK Dons and Batth is more than capable of holding the Sheffield job down, there are obviously many more.
It is not just the mad scramble for survival in the PL, the whole set up reek’s of Mediocrity and Very Poor judgement…..But guess what ? He don’t care, Not Bothered !!!!
I have to give him a lot of credit for being so patient!!! At 28 years of age he needs to be playing regularly and it seems pretty clear he is not going to be given that opportunity at Wolves.
As a Captain of Serbia, it seems odd that he cannot even get 20 minutes in a Premier League game and yet others with NO international experience get loads of playing time.
It kind of flies in the face of all the stuff about how together the squad is, does’nt it?
Mick will not have gossip in his jungle!
He will be off in January.
Good Idea to leave, says MM
Send Our Steven in to my Office, he can play in that position
Report abuse
It is not as if Milijas has never been given a chance for Wolves. For every game that he’s looked half decent, at least another game has passed him by where he’s looked completely anonymous. I’m afraid he’s a luxury that any bottom half premiership team cannot afford in their cenral midfield. The interesting thing will be that if we do make him available for transfer in January, how many premiership clubs will come in for him? The answer will almost certainly be zero. Yes we need an improvement on our current midfield but I think we’ve seen enough of Milijas now to know that he is not the answer. Not a player suited to the physical nature and speed of the premiership.
Milijas in Henry out … that is all
Report abuse
Absolute joke the way this club is run.
Anyone of the fools on here who says that the club is well run is having a laugh.
Look at the club statement yesterday. We’ve just spent £16 million on a stand which we don’t need. There was no financial justificiation for it, as even Moxey stated.
Yet, because of a court ruling they are now contemplating scrapping the rest of the development. This, based on something they’ve known the risks for at least two years!
And you call that well run?
Moxey, you may think all the fans are sitting in pubs watching the match and not going because of it, but its the same for everyclub in the league. The main reason the fans are deserting you is the way you run this club!
No ambition on the field at all. No progress in 3 years and virually the same team that got us up is still playing in this division!
I’ve said it many times, and will keep saying it, the club is now in decline under the 3m’s.
Sorry my friend Melijas but you’re not from Ireland. Really like you and hope that MM wakes up before it’s to late. We really could do with you in midfield – why not try you beside Guidioura. Then we really would bring in quality and attack-minded players. If 4-5-1 the play you behind Fletcher. COYW.
The idea that Milijas doesn’t work hard enough, doesn’t get ‘stuck in’ enough, drifts out of games too much, is all rubbish.
Milijas is the the most talented player we have and his ommission from the starting eleven is criminal.
Thats fine if he leaves, we will be able to replace him with another 2nd/3rd division no hoper just like the other 48 MM has signed that have not made one bit of difference to the team. You would like to think a youth team player might break through but no I can guarentee a lower division headless chicken will be preffered before a youth team player or a player who can keep hold of the ball, pass forward and make a tackle when it matters as well as score from midfield. Rant over!
I think a few of you on here are a bit deluded with your comments on Milijas come on 21 a genius you avin a laugh or what!If he is so good then why is he at wolves. You are all talking as though hes the saviour of the team.Fair enough hes not been given much chance this season so yes he should be at least on the bench but last season everyone was sayin ohara was god now its lets get rid just cause hes had a few poorish games, this is the time to stick with the team not make wholesale changes.I said before on here give Henry and Hunt a break, give adl and Hamm their chance and if this makes me a happy clapper then so be it!
44) To bring Stephen Ward into this debate is absolutely ridiculous. If you went to games, you would know that he is easily our most improved player and also one of our better players this season.
There is a simple solution here, that would need to be worked on at the training ground but unfortunately it will not happen. For certain games, you play one winger and put Doyle out wide and then you play Milijas, Guedioura and one more central midfielder – Edwards, O’Hara, Henry or even play Foley !
Me thinks that there’s trouble at Mill, players not in the side do find it frustrating but if the team’s playing well they partly accept it. Trouble is most of our team are playing c*** so he is naturally frustrated. We can’t play 442 because of our poor defence, so we need 5 in midfield so as we have a holding midfielder protecting Johnson and co.
We need Zubar or the kid at Right Back and Jody next to Johnson(who’s yet to prove himself).
Drop O’Hara, play Henry in front of the back 4 with Adele and Milijas infront of him and Hamill and Jarvis on the wings with Flecther up top.

sorry to say ..same old same old..mick playes his favorites week in week out i do feel so sorry for Nenad Milijas because he is such a talented player who not only reads a game but is also a pace setter…come on mick sort it out before we loose a good player..

A good manager would recognise what he has in Milijas and would have worked with him to iron out any faults at the same time hardening him up for the Premiereship, but no,not McCarthy.Why?-because he is not a good manager. How he can play Henry instead of Milijas heaven only knows.O`Hara has dipped in form a little bit recently and it would not hurt him to sit on the bench and allow Milijas a run.Henry is rubbish get rid of him altogether and give Milijas a run.Better still get rid of McCarthy and clipboard and get a manager who can do the job, again I know everyone doesn`t agree but Martin O`Niell is now ready to manage again and I think he would certainly do better than McCarthy.
O’Hara (his main rival for a place in the team, and who I rate quite highly) has been decidedly poor in the last three games compared to his form last season. Milijas therefore deserved a first team start especially after the Millwall game. It might have shaken O’Hara up to warm the bench. Instead, Milijas is not even on the bench against Toon. I appreciate our manager’s achievements and his renowned level-headedness, but he can too easily become stubborn-headed when criticised for retaining supposed bankers in the starting X1 (like Henry in the past, and now seemingly, O’Hara.)
This lad , always moving the ball forward , has great skill & time on the ball to pick the right pass & always in with a chance of not only creating but potentially getting goals around edge of box & from free kicks .
Why on earth would i start him , me old numpties ? .
Kightly – 0 pts from 2 apps. Hauled off after 45 min debacle against QPR. Now, by own admission, needs to drop to Champ for fitness.
Edwards – Rushed back from injury and hauled off after 45 mins @ Liverpool. Not seen since.
Hammill, Guedioura, Milijas have every right to be aggrieved. MM’s selection decisions have been shown up as woeful so far. His need to assert his authority by flying in the face of ‘the numpties’ has become at best costly and at worst a bit embarrassing. Form and fitness are considered big factors at every other club in the world but apparently not to Mick.

I don’t think anyone on here will be surprised that in my opinion,at this stage, putting a hold on the ground redevelopment will be the right decision. The money involved to re build the Steve Bull will put us in debt. And we don’t want that.Steve Morgan will have spent his £30m on the North Bank and on the players bought during the last two years in the Championship. We should still have money available,£9m profit two seasons ago and a similar amount last season. We will also still have plenty of money left from Sky this season. These funds should be earmarked for team development, and spent wisely. For all the criticism of Mick McCarthy on here, don’t forget this money is only available down to his achievements in the last few years.

I’m afraid that we have to get used to a ‘workmanlike’ team. Very few who are selected have that bit extra to amke the difference. I thought Jarvo might go from strength to strength. Alas, he’s going backwards!
Guediora has talent, but this will only be seen on odd occasions.
As much as I do like MM, he’s clearly afraid to experiment too far. In my view, Doherty should have started ahead of Stearman against Newcastle…. but that was wishful thinking!

This is the news I’ve been dreading . A class player with a football brain that can open up a defence with a subtle pass . He won’t drop Henry or O’hara even though they are severely out of form, oh, and what about Guediera? He or Nenad just haven’t been given a chance, even though they are far more talented!
I can see the peasants revolting to a point where SM and JM will realise that MM’s management style is driving the fans away (not local pubs showing live Wolves matches) and is ultimately bad for business.
If MM doesn’t change, he’ll be gone inside three months – now thre’s a prediction.

A classic example of a player being our saviour because he is on the bench, some of you lot really are tiresome, Milijas is a decent enough player but every single time I have seen him he has never looked perm class over 90 minutes.
If he does leave it will be the loss of a good player, better than some who get regular games. A lot of good players drift in and out of games, so work rate is not everything. There are more people in favour of Milijas than against. There were a big majority against the happy clap waffle of Spiers and Lalley than for, which shows that “anti establishment” feelings are running high.
It’s not so long ago that O’Hara and Johnson were being hailed as the players to take us up a gear, now they are subject to criticism. What this all reflects again is a very unhappy fan base desperate for some sort of success or at least an end to the poor losses and hoping that somewhere somebody has a clue about how to sort it out!

Yep, MM has shown after the 4th defeat in a row that he has favourites…we have Adlene and Nenad waiting for a chance and they sit on the bench and see Henry and O Hara dominated in midfield. We have to go back to 4 5 1 and get Nenad sitting and Adlene and Edwards pushing forward, before you scream and say i do not know what I am saying….try it…surely after Saturday we need to try something else?
Always been faithful to MM but it is clear unless Henry or OHara die or lose a leg to amputation, they are not getting dropped. That is not a healthy place to be….

I never remember jay jay okocha at bolton puttin a shift in, milijas and alike can be catered for unfortunaetly mick has different opinions. Team against albion will be the same (poor old hamill ) . I am waiting now for johnson to complain as he said he was told more were coming. We have budgeted for one ‘new’ signing in johnson and we stayed up by one goal ! This has been a cracking discussion, I think most of us agree that the manager wont drop his favourites, even when he has clearly better players in the squad.
If he signed Mascherano or Busquets, do you think he would drop Henry?
They would get a season on the bench, while he decides if they are ready.
Mick needs to go, its a cliche, but he really has taken the club as far as he can.
He is the one holding us back, not the squad.

The number of posts stating what a waste of an really talented player on here says it all, I for one will be truly gutted if he does go. And as stated all down to someone being pig headed sorry mick but if he does go your the numpty big time. Prove us wrong and put him back in the team, but something tells me that wont happen. He comes from serbia!

Nenad and Adlene are by far our best midfielders who could carve open many chances and offer the kind of service the forwards need but unfortunately as many have said, McCarthy says he wants to play attractive flowing football but uses players who can’t produce the goods

Already commented on Nenad (post 11), but after reading the other posts, if MM also reads them, then that will seal Nenads fate, as MM is to stubborn or arrogant to take note. He (MM)probably thinks, that as we have paid more for O’Hara, then he had better play him in case he gets critisism for that as well. We don’t know what any of the players train like or what goes on behind the scenes, but it DOES look like there are a favoured few who get selected come what may. I have supported MM in the past, but I am rapidly losing patience with someone who is to rigid and set in their ways to change things around a bit. I am now beginning to agree with those supporters who seem to think MM has taken this club as far as his abilities will allow. Martin O’Neil has been out of work for to long methinks.

Don’t pinch my name you cheeky so and so or i will get my Albion detecting dog Sherlock round to sort you out.
While i’m on here i might as well throw in my ten pence’s worth.
Everyone seems to be going on about our midfield and which is the best system to play.
Henry to my mind is better suited in a 4-5-1 backs to the wall, keep it tight system. At home this year MM is trying to play more 4-4-2 and players like Henry get exposed for their limitations. Nenad is a decent player but he ain’t the holding tough tackling saviour that some of you think he is.
Every team needs a tough combatative midfielder and we have’nt had that skillfull type since Paul Ince in the twilight of his career.
Against Newcastle we could have subbed Johnson, O’hara, Jarvis, Hunt to name but a few as well as Henry. Our defending was crap and to keep on about the same player is getting a bit tiresome.
The baggies match is fast approaching so let’s give them some support as we still owe them some overdue wins after their bragging to pipping us to promotion, four wins in a row tripe.

Now then. What’s with all this talented player, good free kick attacking midfield stuff? Where’s that going to get you? Now that’s a tactic Mr Clipboard and Mr Mick will understand. After all, they play it every week!

McCarthy and Moxy are in very favourable positions, the are both working for a ‘Geenhorn ‘Chairman’ To say that Mr Morgan is a novice regarding the wheeler dealer activities in and out of the boardroom, would be an understatement.
The list of BS public statements are endless, God only knows what crap they are filling the Chairman’s head with. As an example this week, the Moxy piece about Greek TV is totally outrageous, if it is costing the club a thousand punters I would be very surprised, It is a big fat Moxy fairy story. The real story being THE PRODUCT, the team are not up to the job and for whatever reason the buck stops with McCarthy and is second rate staff.
I know chairmen who would have been asking serious questions a year ago and as no improvement is painfully evident, would have moved by now. I believe Ian Rush was a guest of Mr Morgan last Saturday, let’s hope he is gathering a few football folk around him, who at the very least can give honest answers.

It’s a sad situation when a gifted player can’t get a look in even when a team are in a loosing run that could spell disaster.
I’ve always had my doubts about MM’s ability to manage a successful side at Prem level and each week that passes reinforces those doubts.
Good luck to Milijas, I hope he gets a chance with a skilfull outfit where a pit-face mentality is not in vogue. MM might be putting in some good shifts, no doubt he is, but if the coal dust in his eyes blinds him to players with skill, then what good are his most determined endeavours? No damned good at all!!

Following on from 128,is Morgan really interested in Wolves FC? Okay he had to put in £30,000,000 at the beginning ,but how much of that fund has actually been spent? Furthermore do you honestly think he would be running his building businesses in this way ,I dont think so.Falling attendances,no young players coming through, finishing lower in the league last season than we did in our first season,no decent cup runs, you would have thought he would have said after the Blackburn game at the end of last season, it wasnt good enough and things were going to change.Yet he says and does nothing. It sends out completely the wrong signal to the people who are considering buying a season ticket/hospitality package etc but are waiting to see what ambition the club has. I am sorry to say it would appear to be “not alot” at the moment.

So Mr.Johnson if I was you I would get all the support you can “MUSTER” pal as it wont be long before you get the same treatment as “MM” did!
Take note you “NUMPTY” it was not about “KARL HENRY” it was frustration at “MM” way’s!!!!
Surely you can see that the team and some players in the team are out of form, and have dragged the team to the bottom!
Lose against “WEST BROM” pal and guess were we will be in the league?
This is after a good start!!!!We have not played man u , chelsea , man city, arsenal , wigan YET!!!
So stop the bull and start controlling what is happening on the pitch, rather than looking forward to picking up 40Grand a week!!
Oh and the one’s you have called discraceful etc some of them earn your weekly amount in “THREE YEARS”!

Nenad Milijas has made some great contributions in previous seasons eg. vs Bolton and assisted in others. I hope we dont lose him like Frankowski. He was last seasons top goal scorer in the Polish league and has netted 8 times for Jagellonia this season. Give Nenad a position at the start of a game and give him time to show what he can do.

Technically one of (if not the) best at the club being strangled by an ‘old school’ approach to playing the game.
When will Wolves realise that you need to be playing good football to progress – players like Milijas are critical to that.
Henry, Berra, Elekobi, Ward, Stearman, Kightly not fit to tie Nenad’s laces yet are ahead in the pecking order – what a mess.

Hi No.134 you neatly express my feelings.
Things are a mess, and in my opinion, the three M’s can take full credit for getting Wolves from the Championship to the Premiership, but having got there, two of them don’t have a clue as to how to stay there, and the other is too busy trying to build a monument to himself.
I suppose if you handed, say, £100m to a run of the mill member of the public he/she might find difficulty knowing how to spend/invest it or how to behave, and the 3M’s are in much the same state of ignorance.
The awful thing is they haven’t the gumption to say so!!

If karl henry is a holding player who protects our back 4 how come we are 2 goals down at half time most matches. We have serbian, welsh and an algerian internationals who are ten times more gifted than henry who is a championship player at best.Yet again MM and henry opened their mouths before the qpr game and the same last year against newcastle and both times they have derailed our season.Morgan see sense and get rid of both these clowns. The 3 international players are worth more than these 2 muppets. The price to go and pay to watch these 2 amateurs perform is driving people away along with sky high prices, not the pub tv,take a reality check before it is too late

Well he has signed his death warrant he should play MILIJAS O’HARA and GUEDIOURA in mid=field.
Unfortunatly they would play football and probably create chances and we might score goals!!!!.
But we all know that HENRY will be back on the team sheet along with MM’s other favourites.
The reason people are not going to watch is because everyone is fed up with the inept performances. Its time for MM to move on but I know its only a pipe dream….is MR MORGAN frightened of the other two M’s? Get a grip before its too late please.
Roger JOHNSON take note the fans were not berating HENRY they were having a go at MM because HENRY has not been playing well and should not have been picked but he can’t tell MM he does want to play.

There is a wider context to this issue. Today this newspaper is carrying a story that Steve Morgan has said there should be a salary cap. Regardless of the merits or otherwise of the case, as a Wolves fan the story gives me a bad vibe and seems related to the Milijas fiasco.
Do you remember back in May after Wolves survived, and Jez Moxey and Steve Morgan were full of themselves and giving self-righteous advice to all and sundry that other clubs should follow Wolves excellent example?
How far we are from that mood now! Did we fail to get one or two of our summer transfer targets? The message I get from the salary-cap demand is that Wolves feel they are being cheated by teams nicking players from us by spending money they haven’t got. Now Morgan is not boasting about success but whinging about failure.
Morgan and Moxey also said in the summer that Wolves preferred to try to buy players from the British Isles. As British and Irish players are known to be a lot more expensive than players from France, East Europe, Scandinavia, etc., it seems an extraordinary aim for leaders who boast about not wanting to overspend.
The club sounds confused. Are Moxey and Morgan trying to promote British and Irish players or are they trying to run a tight ship? If we’re trying to do both at the same time then that might explain why we signed so few players despite the rumour that Mick assured Johnson we would try to sign quality players.
This could be one reason why Milijas is out in the cold. It might explain why possibly our most technically gifted player is virtually never played and now is not even on the bench. It would also explain why an unfit Edwards or Kightly is preferred to Milijas or Guedioura. If this is Wolves policy, where is the lead coming from––Morgan or McCarthy?
Whatever, the fans are getting very unclear messages from the club’s leaders. The only message that seems to come loud and clear is that the club will never listen to the fans, and the fans are to blame for Moxey’s and McCarthy’s failures. Are the 3Ms living in the 21st century and on this planet? It’s about time Morgan clarified Wolves’ aims and the club’s intended means of attaining them.
