Boss Tony Pulis was left 'disappointed' by West Brom's flat 1-0 defeat at home to relegation-threatened Norwich City today.

The Baggies head coach described Robbie Brady's winner as a 'poor goal' to concede, especially because it came five minutes after half-time.

Pulis felt that his side had trained superbly in the week, and the 58-year-old was left flummoxed by a performance that saw Albion fail to register a shot on target.

He said: "It was a really poor game. Apart from Stephane Sessegnon's chance in the first-half, and obviously Claudio Yacob hits the post with a great strike from outside the box, we didn't do anything.

"I didn't think they did anything. I told them at half time sometimes you've got to grind results out. It just seemed one of those games. The one thing you wanted to do was keep a clean sheet.

"Low and behold minute five, we get one or two people putting one or two people in trouble. Their goal is such a poor goal.

"Alright they've had a break, but it should never have got to where it got to."

Albion started the day unbeaten in eight games at the Hawthorns and mounting a tilt at the top half.

The Baggies had picked up 10 points out of a possible 12 in their last four league games.

Pulis said: "We've played so well over the last month or so and to put in a performance like that is disappointing.

"We've just had two weeks off, so we've got another two weeks off. Maybe they need a break I don't know."

Albion haven't played for a fortnight, but Pulis didn't want to use the break as an excuse for today's performance.

He said: "It's the same for everybody. Norwich have had a two week break as well. It's the same for everyone and you have to deal with it.

"This week they've trained as good and as well as they have since I've been here. They've been really bright and looked really sharp.

"It just shows Monday to Friday means nothing, Saturday is when it counts."
