The Baggies were due to have a day off, but after tonight's embarrassing performance at London Road Pulis has told all of the players to come in to make sure they recover properly.

"They were going to have a day off but we have brought them all in so we can assess the damage and move on from there," said Pulis.

"Everybody is in to check that they have looked after themselves.

"They need to do stuff and we need to do stuff to them to make sure they're ready for Saturday.

"It won't be training, it will be other things."

The Welshman also heaped praise on Graham Westley's Posh side.

"I think you've got to give all credit to Peterborough," said the Baggies boss.

"I'm a traditionalist in lots of ways and I love this competition.

"It's a wonderful competition. It's very special in lots of ways because it brings back memories of being a young boy in South Wales.

"The FA Cup and European Cup were the main live games on TV.

"It's special on the day, to come to Peterborough, who are a couple of leagues lower.

"The way they played was absolutely fantastic and the manager, supporters and players deserve so much credit.

"The only disappointing thing for them is that they've been knocked out by in everything else you have to give them lots of credit.

Confirming defender Gareth McAuley is out for two weeks with a hamstring injury, Pulis also bemoaned Saido Berahino's missed header in the 120th minute.

"We probably had the best opportunities," said Pulis.

"With Saido's header at the end we were just waiting for the net to bulge. We were right behind it and the movement was good.

"He got around the back and how he missed it I don't know.

"But I'm pleased. The FA Cup is about getting to the next round, irrespective of how you do it, and that's what we've done."

Outplayed and outfought by for the majority of the match, the Baggies were second best and 1-0 down until the 71st minute when Darren Fletcher's thunderbolt from the blue sent the game into extra-time.

Ben Foster saved Martin Samuelsen's and Lee Angol's penalties to send the Baggies through to the a fifth round tie away at Reading.

Fletcher, who also missed in the shoot-out for West Brom, added: "That was a real tough match. Their work rate and their energy and the way they played, it was a real cup tie tonight.

"They came right at us in the first 20 minutes and I thought they were the better team, but once we settled down we had some great chances as well.

"Overall I thought we had the better chances in the game but it was a great cup tie, but in the end someone has to go through and fortunately we've gone through on penalties."
