West Brom loanee Serge Gnabry looks to be heading out of the Hawthorns as parent club Arsenal want to recall him from his season-long move.

The German winger made just one Premier League appearance for Albion, playing 12 minutes against Chelsea back in August.

He's failed to impress boss Tony Pulis in training, and has been unable to make it into his match day squad, appearing on the bench just once in the last 13 league games.

The Baggies are paying Gnabry's wages, at the moment, and the Gunners are within their rights to force Albion to see out the season-long agreement.

They've decided to recall the young speedster in a bid to get him another loan move elsewhere.

But, while his return to North London is looking likely, it's not a done deal yet. The clubs are trying to tie up the details of his return.

If Gnabry does return to the Emirates, it will free up a space in Albion's squad because the club were previously operating at the limit of their player wages' total allowed by Financial Fair Play rules.

Gnabry has been largely consigned to a role in the under-21s this season and the writing seemed to be on the wall for him back in October.

Pulis said then: "Serge has come here to play games but he just hasn't been for me, at the moment, at that level to play the games."
