West Brom boss Tony Pulis today confirmed striker Saido Berahino could be set for a Boxing Day recall at Swansea City.

The 22-year-old, whose future has been the subject of intense speculation since the Baggies turned down four summer bids from Tottenham, has not started a game since October 31.

But Salomon Rondon is set to miss the next three games, following his sending-off in last Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth.

And Pulis is considering whether to bring Berahino back in from the cold for the Boxing Day trip to the Liberty Stadium.

Berahino has impressed the head coach with two recent appearances for the club's under-21s.

And Pulis said: "We have got a tough Christmas period so the players will be played.

"Given the way he (Berahino) has trained the last couple of days, given the opportunity, hopefully he takes the opportunity to show what he can do."

Berahino infamously threatened to go on strike after Albion turned down two bids from Spurs on transfer deadline day.

Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace claimed the offers did not come close to matching the club's valuation of a player who finished the past two seasons as their top scorer.

Though the player did not carry out the threat, he has netted just three times since his return and looked a shadow of his former self.

Sources suggest Berahino will attempt to resurrect a move to White Hart Lane next month, as his relationship with team-mates is still frosty.

He's understood to have upset his fellow players with his reaction to being substituted at half-time in the 2-0 defeat away to Crystal Palace in October, when he listened to music through his headphones.

Spurs are now expected to return with a further offer in the January window and Pulis is braced for more speculation.

He added: "If Tottenham come in and they do the deal, they do the deal.

"If they don't, Saido has got to get his head down and recognise and realise he has got to work hard, get in our team and start scoring goals again.

"If you are buying a house, you have got a value as a buyer and the seller has a value. If you can't get together, it doesn't happen."

Albion have midfielder Claudio Yacob back available for the trip to Swansea. The 28-year-old has missed the last three games after returning to Argentina due to a family bereavement.
