Albion confirm Rickie Lambert is safe after Paris attacks

West Brom have confirmed that striker Rickie Lambert is safe after spending last night in Paris.

There were concerns for the former Southampton and Liverpool forward when it emerged he was in the French capital during a series of terrorist attacks.

Albion tweeted: "The Club have spoken to Rickie Lambert. He & his wife are safe. Rickie wanted to thank all fans for their tweets of concern and support."

Rickie's wife, Amy Lambert, tweeted: "On our way back home from Paris, our deepest sympathy to those effected, such a sad day."

More than 120 people were killed last night in a series of terrorist attacks in Paris and many more people have been injured.
